#BangladeshProtest | Bangladesh Unrest | Temples Burnt, Houses Attacked: Hindus Become Soft Target In Bangladesh | News18

What started as a protest against a quota system for government jobs in Bangladesh has turned into widespread looting and rioting across the country, with the minority community, mainly Hindus, coming under attack. With Sheikh Hasina fleeing to India and an interim government still to be formed, videos of temples being set on fire and houses and businesses of Hindus being attacked have flooded social media.

However, at the same time, there have been visuals of Bangladesh's Muslim clerics guarding a Hindu temple in Cumilla.

I don't see any Muslim condemning this ! Oh i forgot, its not agenda of Gaza, Palestine. Thank you though for proving that you are namak-haram.

Where are those who weep and put out statements like "you don't need to be Muslim to support Gaza, you need to be human"? Where's your humanity gone now? The double standards are unbelievable when it comes to other religious minorities being attacked in Muslim majority countries like these. What a shame!

I am a Muslim. I live in Mauritius where Muslims are among the minorities and our Hindu brothers are among the majority. Yet, we live in peace, with love and are equally respected.

We do not feel that we are among the minorities, alhamdulilah. Whether it is Eid or Divali, it’s a National holiday and we share cakes between our Hindu brothers and Muslim brothers.

The immoral treatment that Hindu brothers are facing in Bangladesh is being witnessed by God, and God does not like injustice.

To all those doing harm to our Hindus brothers in Bangladesh, stop this injustice before God starts to make justice.

As a resident of Panchagarh, Bangladesh, I’ve noticed that there are rumors spreading in Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, and Panchagarh about attacks on Hindu communities. From my experience, these claims do not reflect the reality on the ground. The situation here is complex, and after the resignation of Sheikh Hasina, it appears that general unrest has targeted political supporters rather than specific religious groups. Additionally, our local community, including Muslims and students, are actively working to protect temples and ensure peace in our region.

But can someone tell why this attack is happening? Political uprest is ok but targeting a particular religion is a big mistake. What is happening?.

After 1400 years, despite fall of Ottomans, Mughals, Sunni Caliphate; an over-Confident Islamic misperception about the sustainability of al-Aksa, Madina, Kaba and mosques all over the World has brought arrogance and ignorance.

I'm from Bangladesh. 98-99% of Hindus are safe, there's still fear due to attacks on the 1-2% who have been targeted (though these numbers are just my estimates). In my area, which has a higher concentration of Hindu residents compared to others, around 10 houses and stores were burned during the chaos. Two of these belonged to Hindu individuals with Awami political backgrounds, while the other eight were owned by Muslim local politicians (including two local chairmen and other small Awami leaders). Both Muslim and Hindu Awami League politicians were attacked, not because of their religion, but due to their political affiliations. The individuals affected had strong political ties, they were as pro-Hasina supporters. Didn't see any Hindu or Hindu family being attacked due to their religion rather non political Hindus and their institutions are being protected by the local Muslims. At the end, no one's property should be destroyed in retaliation, we hope that the situation improves as soon as possible. Government and the soldiers are working on that. Hindu brothers & sisters in India, please double check everything before trusing any online news/propaganda.

Hindus across the world, it's never too late to finally stand up for your faith. Without it, we are nothing.
