Jerry Cantrell Explains Alice In Chains & I Want Blood Album Collaborative Creativity Partnerships

The riffmeister details why he works best with musical partners and how that's been successful in both Alice in Chains and his solo career including his new album I Want Blood.

Jerry Cantrell’s forthcoming solo record, I Want Blood, is a return to beastly form for the legendary grunge guitarist. Featuring spots from Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo and Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin—two old friends who played on Cantrell’s 2002 solo release, Degradation Trip—along with Duff McKagan and more, it’s a glorious, riff-filled reunion.

He's the GOAT, I got Degradation Trip the day it was released here by accident. Then I found out there was a one and two limited release (yes, I have those CDs) because it wasn't until recently you could get any of those albums from streaming services...22 and a bit years ago...
Definitely one of the best song writers to have lived...**** what we call classical now...Nutshell, Would and Rooster (I prefer the demo version) also the new music is awesome... it just is. Metallica have been doing new music in an attempt to recreate the 80's and that's great, but Jerry has never lost the groove... and the Wah pedal, I'll never have a whinge about that. He's brilliant, and without Layne, he's AIC...
