Best explanation/advice I’ve heard so far. I stack $10 Liberty Heads because I like the design, like the way it feels in my hand, and I can. If you shop around you can find 1/10 oz Eagles for $230ish.

Funny that you mention the taxes coming back, and buying a full ounce of Gold. Well, we just got ours back a couple weeks ago, and my goal was to reach 25 oz (as soon as financially possible), but not all in 1 oz size. I’m filling two tubes with fractional Gold (twenty 1/4 oz, and twenty 1/10 oz, all in capsules, hence the tubes hold 20 each). Then moving on to completing a mix of 1 oz, and 1/2 oz AGE’s, again, 20 in capsules. When complete, they should all total at least the original goal of 25 oz. I like the idea of multiple sizes, all being American Gold Eagles 🦅, because it allows a sale of small quantities, if need arises. Well, with the recent tax $$$, instead of snagging a 1 oz AGE, for around $2025, I chose to purchase ten 1/10 oz AGE’s, with credit card, for approx. $234 each. Multiply that x 10, and ya got $2, 340…YIKES! But, I had over $400 in credit card $$$ saved up, which lowered my cost to $1, 931. Now that was a price I could justify for 1/10 oz Eagles. Ya gotta find ways to offset these darn premiums.

I just found your channel and enjoyed your video. Very informative. Unfortunately I just don't have the patience in me to save for a 1/2 ounce or full ounce. Sometimes even the 1/4 ounce lol. As soon as I get $230 I find myself buying a 1/10 Eagle, Maple, Britannia or Philharmonic. Whichever is the cheapest at the time because my LCS buys those. I pick up 1/10 when the premium is less then 15%. When you minus the shipping your not paying since it’s free then its 13%. Not bad. You got people out here stacking ASE with a 30%+ premium

I totally agree with you about buying the most liquid Gold (and Silver) for your stack, and to preserve your wealth, and to allow you, or your loved ones to be able to convert it to dollars as easily as possible when the need arises, but where the heck do you get those prices for 1/10 Gold Eagles?? Don’t tell me you’re buying your Gold from Rip-Off-Mex? They have their 1/0 Eagles for $289 cash/check, while after shopping around a little, you find them for just under $225 at Bold. “Come on man”…ha, ha. Let’s Go Brandon! People don’t stack fractional! It’s death by premium and shipping! Save and buy 50 gram bars! It’s the sweet spot between lowest purchase cost and premiums!

I wouldn't. A Stacker should always buy an ounce, because anything less than an ounce, well, it's a waste of money. A Stacker can always sell an ounce at a cheaper price than the spot price at the time. Profit is profit, don't be greedy.

I only buy 1 oz size Buffalos (24k). If SHTF or I need to trade/barter... I can just cut/nib off pieces as necessary. If a SHTF never occurs, then I'll just sell back full 1 oz coins.
