What a lovely video! My grandma used to say, "If you smile enough when you're young, all your wrinkles end up in the right places." She was 90 with twinkly blue eyes, beautiful skin and many, many wrinkles.

I love how you call it noise. I call negative things in society especially when it comes to women noise. Women need to stop listening to what magazines, articles, and even "influencers" have to say about our beauty. We don't need to inject stuff into our bodies and faces. We don't need to have abs, we don't need to look 25 at 50 years old. I really believe that if women just started embracing everything about themselves it would be so wonderful!

I love this!! The overconsumption of different items to purchase in the name of “self improvement” in general has gotten out of hand. I wish more people would realize that in most cases, we already have all that we need.

I have cystic acne, some of my colleagues makes fun of it, so i just ignored them. They never know the struggles i’m facing having PCOS and hormonal imbalance. Thank you for this video, really insightful.

What you said literally opened my eyes. You said that these skincare companies are the ones who first remind us of our flaws and then launch a particular product for it's aid. How true is that! These companies don't launch products first but these launch insecurities first, these make us look at ourselves in a manner which makes us feel bad about our skin etc. Everyday we see that a new 'defect' has been launched in the market which is considered as undesirable and these companies offer stupid solutions for that problem which didn't even exist and even if it did it wasn't much of a problem anyway!

I can relate to this so much as a skincare focused creator and founder. So it’s inspiring to see more people like you, speaking up to tune in to yourself, rather than listening to all the noise out there 🌴

I love the content on this channel! I too am in my 20s and the entire 'levelling up journey' and 'becoming the best version of yourself' seems to have really taken a toll on me. I am now just learning to love myself for who I am at this current stage in life and not looking elsewhere on social media to better myself.

Great video. I’m 40 and embracing aging. I use 4 products for my skin daily and a mask 1-2 times a week now. I only use 2 brands that don’t aggravate my sensitive skin right now. I very rarely wear makeup. I don’t put a lot of effort in my skincare. I get shocked by how much my cousins and friends my age or couple years younger spend for skin care. They spend $100s where I spend between $30-50 for skincare.

I went through a crazy skincare and makeup phase when I was following beauty channels, always trying to get the product that was going to transform my skin. I finally learned that less is more and that consistency is key. 😇🙏🏽

This is a video I think we all needed 💚 I feel so silly looking back to my early twenties and how obsessed with skincare I was. I used to watch skincare YouTube videos all the time and constantly be on the lookout for new things. This was when K-beauty was getting huge. Now, I have a handful of things I can rely on, and I started looking at my skin more holistically. As you mentioned, sweating, eating better, and being happy supports our skin so much. Sending lots of love! 💖

I'm 24, Indian and my skincare consists of a homemade cleanser (Indian gram flour and water), aloe vera gel from the plant and occasional sunscreen (since I don't go out much), you could easily mistake me for a 14 year old😂 My skin is so smooth and glowing and I've never ever had acne and I rarely get any pimples and I owe it to Fuller's earth masks I did while I was a teenager and also I'm a vegetarian!

The ammount of skincare products nowadays is really overwhelming. Being born in the 90s, we only had few drugstore brands here like Maybelline, L'Oreal and then few more expensive like Clinique. Not much more to choose. Now we are bombed all day in Instagram and Tiktok 🤮🤮 I'm a victim, i admit. Thanks for bringing up this topic, it's so needed. ♥

Wonderful thoughts, Sophie! We waste so much time and money on skincare, our skin doesn't really need. I am in my early 30 and my skin is fine, much better than in my previous years of 5 step expensive skincare. Now I only use gentle cleanser or soap, natural Aloe Vera gel, cucumber or honey as moisturising treatment, salt as an exfoliant and green tea with tea tree oil as a toner. No creams, no sunblocks, no serums. My skin thanks me for simplicity of my routine and really looks healthy. Most important than skincare is what we eat, our physical and mental health. Less stress, less social media, more fresh air, good sleep, more time with my family. That's what make us feel and look good ❤

I am 70 and love my skin care. It’s based on the classic dermatologist routine so the same things through the years, maybe a change of moisturiser or cleanser and enjoying improved sunscreens. It’s simple when you focus on what has been proven to work and ignore the new and exotic.

I love your perspective on enjoying life and not letting these obsessions stop you. Can you share your fitness routine and perspective towards food? I think today's world is also too obsessed with specific diets, workouts etc.

I agree with you on your title! My routine honestly adds stress because it makes me feel to consumeristic.

I used to work sooo hard trying solutions for my skin since I had adult acne from age 18 through some of my early 30s. I haven't had them since using a few items, and I went through so many items to find the right ones for me, and over time have cut them down to a few. My scars are there but I am just glad I don't have breakouts at all any longer. I like that you made your own items. I had tried that and it did not help my face. I have reached the point where I am accepting how I am aging and just go, "Well. . I'll be 40 in a couple months, and it is okay to age. I've had a good life and look younger than my age, so I'll embrace where I am in this season." I have smile lines now and that is new for me, but they are cute.

Dear Sophie as I mentioned to you yesterday your videos don’t disappoint. The message in this video is so powerful. It reminds us that the first step is to take care of our inside by eating healthy and exercising in order for it to reflect on our skin. People from different ages will benefit from your message. Thank you so much for sharing your life experience and wisdom with us.🌸🙌🏻🙏🏻

I really needed this today. After getting horribly cheated on a few years ago, I went from being really confident to constantly comparing myself to other women, usually younger. Gaining confidence and love for your current body can be such a difficult journey but happiness is possible by being kind and gentle with yourself. ❤
