This practice also existed in India, but now it has all changed. If someone grew a beard, we would get scolded at home. Only the parents would say that beards are kept by lost individuals or ascetics.

Same thing with Japan. Beards for the Japanese means a you are a savage warrior and even intimidating because it symbolized power and control by influence od the edo era conquered by emperors which... The Japanese are trying to avoid accepting people with beards unless... you are an high executive of a big company.

Not just Koreans bro most of East Asians like Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai and many more East Asians country men don't have beard only few of them might grow a full beard but majority of Mongolians don't keep it also because it don't suit their youthful face and most of them have very patchy beard so they just prefer clean shave cultural factors might also be a reason in some East Asian countries.
