I’m still using an iPhone X. I had the battery replaced a few days ago because my original one was down to 74% of its original max capacity. Everything still works really well. My previous phone was an iPhone 5 and at the 5 year mark it was really limping and felt like it needed replacing, this one not at all. I’ll probably keep it another 2 years.

My iPhone 8 Plus is on iOS16.1.1, it’s incredible how Apple still updates older devices!

4:26 Hi Nick, thank you for raising up this issue. It is true that performance has been degraded since iOS 16, according to my iPhone XS Max, like Genshin Impact has dropped quite a few frames after gaming like 20 mins. It seems like only the iPhone 14 series can escape from this issue.

I really appreciate you making this comparison. As soon as I saw it, I jumped on it because I’m sporting an iPhone X. It’s gotten a little better even with iOS 16.2 . There’s definitely not enough difference to justify an upgrade of that cost. This is not just true with Apple. Micro Computing and PC tech alike has matured in it’s current form. Yes, benchmarks can spew out really high numbers but even the iPhone 10’s dual-core neural engine can carry on 600 Billion calculations per second. That might be “slow” to the A16 Bionic but it’s by no means a slouch.

4:22 i'm here to tell you nick you are not wrong! The iPhone X did in fact get slower over the years. Yes the newer phones are faster initially. When the X was first released it was SO MUCH FASTER on ios 11. This is the reason I try to keep my iPhones on the stock OS version when I first get them. They're way faster that way.

Still rocking the iPhone X. The main selling factors to me are the 120hz screen, way better battery life, and cameras. Other than that, the iPhone X has still aged incredibly well. The fact that it still gets software support makes me respect Apple a lot.

I've been using an iPhone X since it came out in 2017, and i'm excited for this new iPhone 14 Pro Max I'm setting up right now. I do a lot of video editing with capcut, so I am excited to see the performance on the new one. The iPhone X really only fails when trying to multi-task heavily or when someone airdrops video from a newer phone, the iPhone X won't even play it, just force closes to homescreen after a second or two. I'm extremely impressed with how the phone has held up over the years though. Also, I kept my iPhone X because it has the original Fortnite app from when I downloaded it many years ago and It just wasn't worth the $140 trade in value towards the $1100 iPhone 14 Pro Max... I just kept the iPhone X, especially with how well it still works, I'm sure they would love to have these back for $150! Cheers! Great review btw

I went from an iPhone X to a Flip 3 and then a 14 pro

I honestly enjoyed the X more than the 14 mainly because the smaller and slimmer size, 3D Touch and less apparent bugs compared to my new 14

I just did the iPhone X to 14 pro update last week. That soldier got 4 years of heeeeavy use and was finally retired. iPhone 14 pro is a very fine upgrade.

I've been using the X from when it launched and I just made the jump. The X still performs well but the 14 pro is noticeably ahead. Also, I've got small hands and the X fit my hand better but other than that, I'm loving the 14 pro's battery life and performance.
