It's incredible that this even got before a judge. That tells me the police department and it's senior leadership is extremely corrupt and or stupid. Also it tells me the prosecutor's office is incredibly corrupt and or stupid.

The problem with all police is that they will not punish or get rid of
officers who do unconstitutional things. Every one recognizes their
actions as unlawful except for the police higher up and of course their
union. Take away police qualified immunity and hold them personally responsible then all the harassment and
unconstitutional behavior will stop. Officers need to be held personally
responsible for their bad actions. What these police are doing is
unconstitutional and they should be held accountable.

They're lucky they didn't have drugs planted in their car. That very sheriff's office is guilty of it.

Would be nice if the money comes out of that department or pensions instead of tax payers

Why would the State Attorney’s office attempt to prosecute somebody that was already established law? So corrupt!

Look at my picture it's Florida stop and frisk 901.151 the passenger was in the right he had no obligation to show that cop any identification because he didn't commit a crime or traffic violation

The prosecutors definitely know that was a false arrest and they’re still trying to prosecute it. Disgusting waste of human skin.

Police should be required to learn and pass a test on constitutional Law! They swear an othe to uphold and protect it yet they violate it every chance they get! If they do understand it it's deliberate, if they don't understand it they

"One former deputy told the Times the program was less about crime prevention and more about making “lives miserable until they move or sue.”

How do police not understand these basic concepts. Resisting by not identifying when he committed no crime. Imagine a prosecutor tried to make this case.

it's the end of 2021 now and multiple judges have made it clear to the Paso Sherriff's office that it is unlawful arrest to arrest a passenger in a traffic stop who isn't suspected of anything for failing to provide ID. you can always ask, but it's unlawful to demand with threat of force or arrest in such a case. the Pasco's Sherriff repeatedly responded that the arrest was legal and that they can arrest a passenger for failing to ID... so its not just that they investigated themselves and found no wrongdoing, they see the wrongdoing and admit it but say that it isn't wrong...

The problem here is not racism, but more the fact that so many cops simply IGNORE Terry v Ohio and think they can just get ID on demand without reasonable suspicion of a crime. They stop a car, the driver is the one who shows ID. Unless there is reasonable suspicion, the other occupants are just passive passengers. If the cops knew there was a perp on a city bus and they stopped the bus to get the perp, would they demand ID of all the other passengers? I bet they would. They are that egotistical. Just another day in the USSA.

I really surprised they found nothing during this encounter the cops usually have a hidden bag in their pocket to plant evidence they must be getting slow harassing an innocent family typical

Wow! Agree, this whole thing was messed up. That cop should be fired for sure but the sheriff should be held accountable for his deputies.

In Pasco County if you have a family member who has had any trouble with law enforcement they will show up to your house multiple times a day and harass you and give you violations for such thing has overgrown grass or missing a number on your address

I'm a police officer in Alabama. With that in mind, these deputies actions were very unjustified.
