New Kindle Paperwhite 2024 vs. old 2021

The new Kindle Paperwhite update was surprising. We had seen rumors that a color Kindle was coming but a nice incremental update to the Paperwhite was not on my radar. I test out both new versions of the Paperwhite and compare them to my old 11th gen version of the Paperwhite. I've loved my Kindle for years and it has made reading so easy so any small improvements that Amazon makes to the Paperwhite or a welcome change.

The new paperwhite is more neutral, which happens to be warmer than the default 'cool' color of the 11th gen. If you put both at the same brightness next to a piece of paper, the 12th gen is much closer to natural white than the 11th, which has an unnatural blue hue to it. I love the new 12th gen
