I love watching the interaction between you and your Dad. On one hand it makes me miss my Dad (RIP) even more, but on the other hand it makes me think of all the great times we shared. Treasure the time your Dad is here.
Excellent work guys! 👍🏻

I really don't understand how this channel doesn't have more subs it is probably the best review channel for these types of things. Just enough information and not too much information and real testing.

I *LOVED* this video! I think not enough automotive YouTubers get serious enough about fuel economy. It's not uncommon to do a MPG run in various cars and trucks. But do they actually drive them *_efficiently_* to really showcase what's possible? NO! They do not! They drive them like heavy footed people would. And that does NOT represent everyone out on the road. Sometimes, the circumstances and the traffic conditions force you to waste fuel. But when you can and time allows, everyone should be striving for fuel efficiency! I'm just happy to see these machines are even able to reach that level of efficiency at all! Nice job you two!

100% agree about the screen size,

I know its minor in comparison to the functionality of the truck, but when dropping that kind of cash on a truck and you see what the competition are bringing, infotainment and interior styling really come into play

I have a 2021 Silverado 3.0 diesel and recently got 30.5 mpg, 700 miles in one tank with an average speed of 75 mph. Duramax 3.0 is an awesome motor!

I have a 2016 Ford Fiesta with the 3cyl and it’s mpg on the sticker is 44 mpg. My trip from Cincinnati to Indianapolis at 55 mph because of road construction I got 74.4 mpg. Proving lower speeds get better fuel economy.

Best fuel milage I've ever got on my truck is around 19mpg in my 2013 ford f150 with a 3.5 v6 turbo. Drove it 940 miles in one day and only had to fill it up once. Has a 36 gallon tank

Dad is a bit jaded with those luxury truck 12" screens vs those work truck 8". I'm happy with 8" screen in my new truck. The way ford uses the extra 4" is just so so anyway. Both fuel economy results were very nice!

I had 5 silverados in my life, this time i bought the 2022 3.5l ecoboost f150. .So far so good with the F150. Both great trucks though. i wanted a change from the same 0. Only time will tell.

i always noticed my cruise control breaking my descents while driving even the smallest of mountains in the ozarks.
that is why, when mileage was important. or any mountain up n down became constant, i took the cruise off.
i just felt it was actually hurting my gas consumption

Both of them will last longer than a Ram, not like that's hard.

I crossed the country last year in a loaded Ford Expedition Max, West to East, including various city crossings (although I tried to cross cities at night as much as possible), and got an overall average of 20 mpg, and I did not try to be gentle on the throttle. I figure whatever possible savings I might have on that diesel in real life driving, city and highway (and diesel drops off in the city), would be more than offset in extra fuel cost and more expensive maintenance on the diesel.

Great review guys.
I strongly agree with pops about showing up to the party with your 8" and everyone else has their 12".
I bet that alone will turn away some buyers.
Keep up the great works guys.

im getting 18 mpg with my 2011 silverado with the 5.3, tuned with AFM disabled. the fuel i use is 88 octane sold in the midwest of america, which is basically 15% ethanol. mixed city and highway.

Understand you run what you have, but think the 2.7L V-6 Ecoboost would more closely match the diesel of the Chevy (Gas vs. Diesel). Great job by you and your dad for hitting those numbers. Love both trucks and looking forward to the upcoming capability videos. We have an older 2014 (steel) F-150 Lariat with the 3.5L Ecoboost, 6 speed transmission (max trailer tow w/ "dumbo" mirrors), just took it for a run loaded up with passengers and cargo and not babying it, we got 18mpg for reference.

I got the 2021 F-150 with that Baja tan interior. I absolutely love it. I don't know why Ford dropped that color for the 24-25 models. You can still get it on the F250, which is probably what I'll upgrade to in about 8-10 more years, barring any substantial issues with my F150. 🤞
