Cargo ship Ever Forward runs aground in Chesapeake Bay

If this scene looks familiar – that’s because it is. This boat is a cousin to the container ship “Ever Given” that blocked the Suez Canal in March 2021.

The ship missed a turn. There are travel paths dredged out so big ships can get through. They are charted and very clearly marked with booies (sp). It passed where it should have turned and then turned out of the travel path and onto the mud piled up from creating the path. The entire vessel is sitting on 20 feet of mud.

The good news is that it is not blocking traffic. It is sitting in a place clearly marked for ships not to be.
