Evergreen’s Ever Forward runs aground near US port

Another ship owned by Taiwan’s Evergreen Marine has run aground. Nearly a year after the Ever Given blocked the Suez Canal, the Ever Forward has gotten stuck near a U.S. port. The Ever Forward is a massive container ship that’s sailing under the flag of Hong Kong. It was bound for Norfolk, Virginia, and it got stranded after leaving the port of Baltimore. Port authorities say it is not obstructing the channel.

No fuel has leaked so far, and rescue efforts are still in progress. Evergreen Marine says it’s working with local authorities to free the ship as soon as possible.
