The end there wasnt a mistake. That was the Maverick Landing maneuver, hides you from deadly 5th gen fighters using dense trees.

The F-22 may have thrust vectoring, a radar cross section the size of a bee, crazy good sensors, autonomous capabilities, superior maneuverability, and sophisticated countermeasures (like the ability to project an infrared hologram of itself to further confuse missiles, outside of it being really hard to detect and track to begin with), but it can't crash into the ground like that and keep flying. Remember that.

Maverick is so skilled he turned his f-18 into a tank, went on land, and jumped back up into the air, going back into flight mode. Truly a one of a kind ace among the best

Does like 12G manneuvers, crashes into mountain, aircraft wiggles and stabilizes quickly. DCS players hate this trick.

My favorite scene from Top Gun: Maverick was when Tom Cruise was flying really fast and clipped the treeline and flipped the plane like 4 times and flew away smoothly! He's such a bad ass! Great recreation of the flying in the movie though!

Legend has it, he shot those 5th gen fighters by using the Shimmy Whimmy mid flight as it allowed him to launch missles on all planes of the field.

The end there wasn't by mistake. That was the Maverick taking out a group of anti-aircraft infantry units using the body of the plane. He was merely demonstrating his superior piloting below the hard deck.
