This Blender video is about modeling a hard surface model using the spin tool and boolean operations.

As a shortcut for the difference booleans and sharp edges / bevels I use my free addon fast carve that you can download here:

Is there any advantage here for using the spin tool over the array modifier with rotated empty?

I'm sorry, but I'm having some trouble. First of all, I can't understand github, lol. I can't figure out how to download your "Fast Carve" tool. Second, whenever I use the Boolean modifier, I get jagged edges around the openings of where the objects intersected to form the hole. I've tried numerous things to smooth out the area around the opening, I've tried switching from quads to tri's and back again, I've tried increasing and decreasing the number of vertices, but to no avail. Can you please help?
Also, how are you so easily able to access the panel that allows you to increase or decrease the number of vertices in your objects, as you did at the :21 mark? You actually have a panel that pops up when you create your cylinder that lets you make adjustments to the Vertices, Radius, Depth, Cap, ect! Do I need to make adjustments to my user settings in order to access that panel?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm just trying not to be too frustrated with my Noobiness. Whatever help you or any one else can offer would be greatly appreciated!
