Booting off NFS (with a little help from network card firmware called bootp or tftp) was basically standard technology in the 90s, although it was only really commonly done at universities.

This version is impressive if the network client needed to initially connect to Google Drive is flashed into the computer's BIOS. If it's just stored on some random EFI partition it's more a matter of laborious scripting.

Arch can boot from the Internet. So it's not as hard as it sounds, its just loading the Live version of Arch through PXE Boot.

Um, what? Network PXE boot commonly boots Linux and WinPE by loading a compressed boot image into a RAM disk, with no local storage, though typically using trivial file transfer protocol (TFTP) with no security to load the compressed kernel image.

i’ma be honest, this sounds like a really marketable way for tech giants to get ahold of ENTIRE file systems and do whatever they want with them. i’m already not fond of windows 11 forcing onedrive everywhere except for like 2 folders, this is just ridiculous.
