Muay Thai is all about toughness. Who can withstand the most pain and devastation while dealing out the most pain and devastation. Muay Thai fights are brutal. I wish it was more mainstream. Definitely fun to watch!

Muay Thai fighters are easily the craziest fighters of any background. You have to be tough for any style but the amount of damage they take to the whole body is insane. It’s a constant cycle of real bouts as well

This is what UFC fans want to watch but don't. 90% of arenas boo when fighters are on the ground for more than 30 seconds but don't want to watch One Championship which has tons of these fights mixed in with BJJ and MMA.

Also the fighters have been training since they were old enough to understand instructions. I saw 4 and 5 year olds hitting bags and doing laps. They wouldn’t be able to fight in the US as they would kill people (mostly cause their rules are very different).

Got to visit a train8ng dojo then a fight while in Bangkok. The fight sounded like a 2x4 hitting the side of a barn when kicks would land. Met a 20yr old fighter who had nearly 100 fights.

The problem with yay Thai is the stance. While the purpose of it is for the person performing to have already pre trained the core enough so they do not need to defend body kick’, or punches. This is not the case with most people that do Muay Thai. Also the stance practically invites someone to take you down. This is why I believe K1 kickboxing is the best for defense for the average person in terms of striking
