Wow, the first edition seems so much more obtuse than the second edition. Cole Wehrle really did a good job of cleaning it up and making everything a lot more clear in the second edition. For example, the introduction of the India part of the board, makes those aspects of the game so much more understandable.

Again thanks for this review. I have been thinking about this game for a while. It is currently sitting on my shelf, having only been played once.

It felt like an experiment more than a leisure experience when we played it, nobody really knowing what to do or where to go. It does, though, have a very interesting and deep story to tell if you can read through the lines, and see the events happening around India as the elephant, (itself probably representing fate, unrelenting and inflexible) slowly makes its way around the cards.

I'm still conflicted, but you convinced me to give it another shot. Your video proves quite clearly that the players need to be intellectually prepared for the game before jumping in, and perhaps thats what we lacked.

Just posting to say thanks for the rules overview and this video.
I'm ready to sink the EIC when I get the game to the table soon.

I’m having trouble finding a copy of this game (UK). Any advice?
