What I love most about Adam (and admire) is that he's just real. He has a ton of experience and he shares both Mythbusters related experience and not. Even better... after many years after the show ends, he's still answering questions about it (sometimes over and over) and he never lets on he is tired of it. Even if he is, he never shows it. It's always about education and fun when he shares. Thank you Adam.

"One of the more upsetting things I've ever asked my body to do."

That phrasing is just special.

Completely agree with Adam's take on music while working. If I need deep focus the music goes off, tedious or repetitive tasks music goes on.

As a musician whose family has never actually appreciated the work that goes into it, I LOVE your Groundhog Day answer.
I wish my family had that mindset.

5:35 what Adam is describing here is so relatable. I love music down to my very core, but sometimes you gotta turn it off to go into ultra-focus mode. You ever turn the radio in your car down to look for a parking spot better? It’s sort of like that I think

My daughter played Rosalie Mullins in 'School of Rock' when she was 16. I still get teary eyed when I play the recording of her singing 'Queen of the Night'. That's a moment I could relive repeatedly.

The day I'd live over and over again would be the last day I spent with my brother before he passed suddenly. It was just him and I hanging out together and really opening up to one another about our fears and joys. Eating good food we made together and just was an awesome day.

This was on my suggested videos when I opened a YouTube tab to look for music to play while I work. I almost always hate working to other people's music.

Adam’s genuineness is what makes him so special. His vast experience shines through as he shares stories, whether from Mythbusters or his life in general. Even after all these years, he continues to engage with fans, answering questions tirelessly. It’s clear he values both education and joy in everything he does.

I laughed out loud when Adam answered “socks” pretty much 1/2 second after I said “socks” out loud.

I am the same way about music while working. When I am coding, I work in silence in order to keep focused. When I am running different experiments after the code is done, I am singing along to some tunes!

"I've always been like this" is the most Adam Savage comment ever.

Machinist here. Don't understand how people can listen to anything on the floor. I need to hear every part of my machine, how my tools are wearing, etc.

The Hyneman playing OSTs during work, wow i would not have guessed and i love him even more now.. 😂 People call me crazy for having tons of soundtracks from cartoons to films.. and listening to them regularly.

I can loop A Different Drum for hours. It's right up there with Biko as my favorite Peter Gabriel songs. But, yeah. All of the Last Temptation album is amazing.

Has anyone seen the movie Ice Pirates (1984)? The story about the Kenner Alien bursting out of the Thanksgiving turkey immediately made the think of the scene when Ron Perlman prepares a turkey dinner and the "space herpe" pops out of it to everyone's disgust (undoubtedly satirizing the chest-burster scene from Alien). Love that Adam was on that wavelength.

School of Rock was amazing for my son. Got him out of his shell and like Adam said it was fun to watch him start to feel the music he played. The best was him playing the acoustic intro to Mom Iam Coming Home. I could watch that video over and over.

Now THAT'S the answer I'm looking for. Those 3 scores are my absolute favorite movie scores. I used to listen to the soundtrack of The Two Towers while working out back in high school.
I have the book by Doug Adams about the music & Shore's writing process called "The Music of the Lord of the Rings Films" & I highly recommend it to anyone who can follow music jargon
