320 Is The Surge. Once The Starter Is Spinning With Counter EMF The Continuous Draw Is Probably About 120Amps.

As young man I always got confused on what a car used in terms of AC or DC power. I think it was the fact that most vehicles I worked on had either a generator or alternator. Alternator being the word that messed me up.

That would be high. Disable the spark and crank and after the initial draw it’ll drop to a consistent lower amp reading . Some say you can put on negative lead but I guess that’s debatable.

Around 3, 800 watts.

Of course amperage will decrease overall as it's cranking. Turbo prop engines like the PT-6 I know draw a little over 1, 000 amps with the 24V battery (~24, 000 watts).

if thst translates to cca you can use that to find out how strong of a battery you need

Do a video on testing parasitic draw with a clamp meter and with regular meter, as well as checking alternator health

Thanks like a year ago i went searching on YouTube for a similar video to see what the peak number was but couldn't find anything and my dc clamp meter only goes to 200 amps i had considered ordering one that goes to like 1000 amps and does inrush and making a video but i didn't

Subtract 1.6. You didn’t zero out the meter. Thought it would’ve drawn more amps. My power inverter pulls twice as much when i’m welding.

Do a voltage drop test. Both sides of the circuit. If it's not getting all the volts because of a bad connect, it will drive the amperage up. 125 amps sustained cranking, 2-300 peak to get it moving.

I am genuinely curious to try this on my scion IQ. 1.33l 4 cylinder hooked to a CVT, I bet I could just about start it with my smoke detector battery 😂 When the battery died in my 17 subaru legacy and it would not start the 2.5 without a 3-5 second crank, it still started the IQ almost instantly after the tiny 275cca, 10 year old OEM battery died.
