Great job at saving these pieces.

Tip: when photographing pieces together make sure the grain on both pieces is flowing in the same direction.

I am a furniture maker and I learned for myself: If you can not hide something than make it stand out like you wanted it that way
For example (maybe not the best example but you will understand what I mean) the dowels in the lower board could be in a darker colour
