That step down move with the left foot is powerful and much more efficient than spinning the hips. Great video Steve.

Steve...this video and release thought has done wonders for my speed. The increase in clubhead speed is remarkable and it clearly shows in the distance I have gained. I have now watched several Mike Austin videos with Mike Dunaway...thanks for changing my approach to the release!

Excellent video!! I have that (feeling of lag) like I’m holding on but I’m not, when I throw from the top to me I only feel my grip pressure, my arms are soft no sensation of trying to uses them, (the downward pressure and chest and shoulders swing the arm) because of that when the hands get left hip high it like the arms have no where to go but whip through impact, it like something you have to learn to let happen naturally with no forced added and build on that. It’s working I’m getting faster now I have to work some on trajectory at the range! Thanks again so much for what you do to teach us!

Makes sense to start from top – let me put in practice. Thanks Steve.

Super slow motion video is very helpful to see the stages of your swing.

Steve really good stuff here. I think too much teaching today talks about unwinding the body and passive arms and hands. It is almost as if Hogan's 5 lessons was written to make golfers worse instead of better. Granted this was how it felt to Ben, but it has caused a ton of instruction to pop up about holding off the release (O'Grady), to commentators talking about delaying the release. I think as long as you are turning / shifting into the left side you can't release the club fast enough, in fact the throwing of the club early will actually increase the speed of the body rotation through the ball. Mike was 100% correct here.

Steve thanks again for another great video. I have been working on Mikes techniques this off season. I have a question about a video your produced previously I can’t seem to find. Can you point me to the video you produced about the complete release of the club head? It is the one you used a golf cart pillar to illustrate the wrist motion. Or any other videos you posted on YouTube to include drills to achieve the perfect wrist conditions to maximize speed and compression. Thank you

Love your stuff ! Can you elaborate on the step down / lean in (as you mentioned it) because I’ve seen some other on.line instructors call demonstrate that as strictly a lean in and it looks more like a continuous move with our backsides and not a Sam Snead appearing step down ? Almost appears as two different solutions for the first move back towards the ball. Also, the word “release” is / was confusing until you explained your definition from the top. But I have a big problem with getting my club between my arms at impact (which I thought was release) but other instructors are calling the release (club between arms) 3-4’ past impact. Confusing but you do a gr8 job clearing this stuff up for me. I still struggle with getting my club out in front after impact without flipping. Working hard on more rotation. Thanks for the help ...

Can you do a video on the three levers of the left arm as well as syncing the club with the sternum slot. The 2 most important things for my swing, just want to know if I'm doing them right.

Are both arms working in unison or are you using right arm for throw out and skipping rock throw forward

Your doing a yeoman’s job of explaining the intricacies of a swat the ball down the fairway. The more I watch the more I watch. When downloading book where does it go on iPad? I started reading then could not find it, not computer literate could be issue.

Steve, what wrist angles are you talking about releasing specifically? Are you talking about the uncocking (radial deviation)? I ask because you maintained a lot of right wrist extension into they downswing and near impact.

Can you do a slow mo from the top from down the line in real time (not a slowed down video) and show exactly what the arms and wrists throw out the clubhead from the moment right after the step on to left side ? Do you release on an angle or straight back away ? I hope this is not confusing

Thx for the video Steve. What I’m trying to understand is if you release near the top and rotate the body close to the same time (instead of holding your shoulders back), wouldn’t that leave the club face open at impact unless you have an extremely strong grip, ala DJ?
