How Did Thanos beat the Hulk so easily at the beginning of Avengers Infinity war?

The Hulk is certainly one of the strongest beings in the Marvel Universe, going toe to toe with literal gods and demons such as Thor and surtur. Despite this, Hulk was easily dispatched by the Mad Titan Thanos during infinity war. So why is this? Many assume that is was because he used the power stone which he had already stolen from the Nova Corps. However, the Russo brothers have stated that it actually has nothing to do with the stones. Thanos is equally as strong as the Hulk, but unlike the Green Goliath, Thanos retains his intelligence. While the hulk relies on raw strength to defeat his enemies, Thanos combines his strength with lethal and carefully thought out blows. Therefore Thanos was able to cause maximum damage to the Hulk, defeating him much like how a boxer or martial artist can take down a larger and stronger enemy.

Hulk wasn't angry enough, that's the answer, if hulk would've been angry at Thanos, that fight would've carried out a different way and the movie would've been over, they did this for the plot.

Hulk vs Thanos in this scene is essentially the same as Hulk vs Abomination in 2008. Only difference being Thanos didn’t give Hulk enough time to get angry. In 2008, Abomination was absolutely destroying Hulk, but because his fight was drawn out, it eventually got to a point where Hulk got strong enough to easily overpower him. Thanos just didn’t make that mistake, and thus won easily.
