The time has come: the first asteroid capable of plunging our civilization into unprecedented chaos is on its approach. For the first time, NASA has to seriously prepare for an asteroid impact. For a long time it was unclear how great the threat from Apophis really is. Now a new study shows that it will hit the Earth. How much destruction will this asteroid really bring us and, above all, where will it hit us?

No worries- Ben Affleck, Liv Tyler, and Bruce Willis already gave us the blueprint to defeat this asteroid ☄️

This asteroid is not a planet killer, measuring only 330 meters or 1, 000 feet in diameter.
The Chuxulub asteroid of 66 mln years ago that killed the dinosaurs had a diameter of approx. 10 km or approx. 6 miles!

That is about 30 x the diameter of Apophis.
Let's, for the sake of siimplicity, cube this number: 30³...= 27, 000 x the size of Apophis!
At the most Apophis, provided it impacts Earth, 'll wipe out a large city, but certainly not all life on Earth! Not even close!

Oh thank God. We need this. Humanity is out of control.

If an asteroid was to impact the earth we would not be told.

When he referred to the asteroid as "flying past" I realised he is too clueless to even bother listening!

This is a city killer, but... I have run numerous simulations, but Newtonian simulations. (Einstein's theories require a far more powerful computer than I have.) The astroid will come very close, but its trajectory will be incredibly eccentric. When I increase its approach speed by just 200mph, the astroid hits the Earth 75% of the time. 15% of the time, it bounces right off our atmosphere back into space. When it does hit Earth, it breaks up into pieces before making an impact with the ground due to the intense tidal forces during its very eccentric trajectory. It will not be a direct impact, more like a glancing blow. In the simulation, it crashes in the general area around Eastern Asia. Eastern Russia, China, Japan, and western Pacific. It has been 5 years since I used the program. I'll run it again.

The explanation of how NASA plans to deflect the asteroid and the challenges involved was very enlightening. The potential collaboration between international communities adds an interesting dimension to the narrative. Including a timeline of past asteroid events and NASA's milestones in asteroid tracking could further enrich the content and provide historical context.

Initially, astronomers were concerned that the space rock might impact Earth in 2029 and 2068, but subsequent observations have ruled out any risk of Apophis posing a threat to the Earth for the next century, according to NASA’s Center for Near-Earth Object Studies.

If it hits in 2036, we have 12 years, not 14.

That's unfortunate for today's 14-year-olds, but while I do not believe it, I will never know whether it happens or not!

Why is the guy in the video talking about a confirmed impact in 2036? Doesn't it have like a very miniscule chance of passing through the gravitational keyhole?

"will affect the atmosphere and trigger health benefits." ?🤨 Did I hear that right?

The one that hits will not be seen coming.
