Santorini Cable Car - Shuttling Passengers Between Fira & The Old Port

The Santorini cable car's primary role is to shuttle cruise ship passengers between the old port and Fira. 'Tender' boats shuttle passengers between cruise ships and the port, and visitors have the choice to walk the steep path up or down, ride the donkeys (which we recommend against), or take the cable car either way or both. At the height of the summer tourist season, with thousands of cruise ship passengers disembarking their boats to visit the island, cable car lines can get quite long in both directions. For non cruise ship passengers during off hours, riding the cable car can be a fun activity, especially with kids, with great views along the way. Though there is little to see in the old port except a handful of souvenir shops and restaurants. There are some boat tours which depart from here as well.

Dave, during this pandemic, I have yet to travel but thanks to your videos, I have used this time wisely to plan a great vacation to Greece next year. Thank you for being so passionate about Greece and your channel. I hope you travel and post more videos and become a global traveling success. I look forward to more videos of Santorini. I do a lot of research on youtube but there's actually not much video on the actual roads and views of Oia, Fira and the southern part of Santorini. I know everyone focuses on the scenic view and sunsets, but how about the hotels and resorts. What do you think are some actual private hotels to stay at? I noticed some places give you a private pool, hot tub, etc. but in reality, there's someone walking by your private area all the time or they will be looking down/up at you from the road. For example, I have 4 nights reserved at Delta Suites because I feel that it does have some real privacy sections but I will never know and I keep looking for a better option. Petit Palace was another option for me because I saw another channel do a honeymoon cave suite with outdoor tub video and it gives me a better impression of "privacy." Basically I'm trying to be naked in my hot tub haha...
