Stop Amazon deleting your apps on Firestick!

Amazon have now added an automatic offload feature to their devices which can delete apps by itself. Here's what the feature is, how it works and how to turn it off.

After thinking about it, I wonder if when an app is offloaded, it still remains in your apps. Then when clicking to open it will ask to reinstall the app.
Not sure though as…. Well, it’s Amazon 🤷🏼‍♂️😂

I turned the offload feature off three days ago. This morning I discovered it did not matter because a lot of my apps had been off loaded overnight. Most of them had been side loaded to an attached drive. I find this intrusive behaviour to be invasive of my privacy.

Thanks for keeping us informed. For a while now I've tried to keep a list of the apps that I've downloaded, mostly because of having firesticks in several locations. But one thing that Amazon has me wondering about with this automatic offload shite is this: What happens to the apps that people had to sideload, and aren't available through the Amazon app store? If they're offloaded, will Amazon save those, or will you have to hunt them down again? This could be very time consuming, if not impossible to acomplish, if you can't remember how or where, or from who you got them.

They don't know what the stuff they're doing . And l recon that they are going to try and dictate to us who purchased the firesticks ... what to do and how to do it. What a lot of bollox !! I'll chuck it in the bin and get a Nevidia Shield . Thanks for that mate, excellent as always

Amazon have removed several apps on my Firestick 4k - I’ve turned off this setting but apps were still removed!
No sideloaded apps were removed though, only apps that are available via Amazon - interesting 🤔

Can you please do a video on the best movies app to download, Cinema HD is pretty good, but lot of the films either have no streams at all or the streams just don't load (buffering) or it says playback failed. I'd love a new movies and series app that's really reliable 🙏😊

Why doesn't Amazon give you the option to uninstall their crap, like you mentioned.

I have to keep clearing the data on these useless preinstalled apps

Would it be possible to plug the firestick into a PC or laptop and delete the preinstalled files that way....

It’s a feature that’s 5 years too late. If all the newer devices are gonna be coming out with 16 gb of storage then it’s not really a problem. Had this on my 2 gen cube about 2 weeks, turned it off straight away. A good solid 9.0 for the joke. World class👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
