SNOWMOBILE vs SNOWBIKE: What's faster in a race?

►The first-ever Red Bull Sledhammers challenged riders to a unique head-to-head hill cross competition on the slopes of Ski La Réserve in Quebec, Canada. On hand to take it in were mountain bike icon Darren Berrecloth and snowmobile legend Levi LaVallee. The catch? They both brought different machines: Berrecloth brought a snowbike, LaVallee brought a snowmobile. Go through the differences of the two together with Alex Pettit. Man. That was all in the motor. Snowmobile has a clear power advantage and can transfer it to the snow so much more effectively, makes sense why he was waiting for him at the finish

Great video... Up until the lame emding simply with text flashing up saying "snowmobile wins". The presenter should have come on after that. There should have been post race interviews of the guys with their feedback etc etc

It's really not even that fair. Sleds are so powerful and fast with a much greater top speed. That bike is really working to drive the track!

Great video. What's your thoughts on a revers trike with the snow bike mod ? Would it work beater on trails ? I'm trying to shop for a toy for my micro camping kit. It's like van life. Les is more.

I have watched snowmobile racing for years. They are considerably faster than these snowbikes. I really can't believe they replaced snocross in the winter x games for these bikes! Way slower! Your talking a 600cc sled pushing 150 hp vs a 450 cc bike with maybe 70 at most!

I'm thinking they could make a snow track kit for dirt bikes with 2 skis up front which could be made to work much better than a single ski up front.

A snowmobile has way more horsepower and a snowbike is terrible on packed snow. Put those two machines on the mountain in deep powder and we'll see how many times the snowmobile needs to be dug out, while the snowbike just tears right through the powder. These are two completely different machines, and are not even fun to ride together on the mountain. Snowbikes and snowmobiles should not mix. Period!

sick as hell but snow bikes suck on hard back bc the ski is meant for powder so it slips too much

Next time bring a single cylinder snowmobile just to see if their still able to beat the snow bike. Like the 400cc single cylinder Arctic Cat snowmobile.
