Hobonichi 2019 cover lineup reveal - my reaction!

I love the fact that Hobonichi has so many different designs for so many different tastes in the world. I really like seeing what other people choose and why they like their choices so much! I have a little established collection of minä perhonen covers and (I like the hand drawing aesthetic and the texture-richness). For 2019 I am getting Soda Water 💦💙, maybe Sora Check and probably black gingham Weeks.

I always love your overviews... thanks for sharing as always. i was not going to get involved with a hobonichi this year - but a cousin is so tempting with the lush doggy cover ;D oh and there are many accessories too ha ha x stay cool x

I am having such a hard time deciding this year, but I think you've convinced me of the Day Camp Mountain cover. I like that you pointed out how it would be a durable cover, and I hate worrying about keeping my covers pristine when they are a tool to be used. But then I also wouldn't be able to use the cute cover on covers! What to do?!? haha!

I really wished the Porter: Connect was available internationally. That would have been the perfect EDC for when classes start back up again

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I'm a bit gutted, though - I was going to get the yellow combi cover, but you're right, now I look at the fine print it says international shipping is unavailable. I'll check to see if Amazon Japan gets it. I'm leaning toward the baby boars Weeks, but two out of the three Weeks I've had have been blue, so I'd like a change, but not desperately struck with most of the designs this year. The cactus is cute though, I might go that way too. And yeah, I had the same thought about Itoi Shinbun's late dog - if the dog was still alive I might even go for that cover, but as it's not, I understand why he wanted to commemorate it, but to me it's just kind of sad! And lol, yeah, I'll be on holiday on the release day too, so hoping it doesn't all sell out immediately!

I swore that I wouldn’t buy another a6 this year and just stick to the cousin but I have totally fallen for the white lace! I am disappointed with the cousin’s options so I am going to struggle to decide 🙈. Every year the cost just increases as I have zero self control 🤣. Great vid as ever xxx

Oooh, intriguing! I'd love a 5-year techo, in case you were wondering ;) I've developed a habit of making small journal entries every day instead of the more stressful longer ones :) Also soo looking forward to seeing you use the sneakers mega! I'd be worried it'd fall apart mid-year, though.

I am going big this year- a6 will be black sky with book for every day carry (sadly weeks is not working for me) and dolphin a5 with book for personal journal and memory keeping and still deciding on accessories

I'm a newbie Hobonichi user, but I'm leaning towards the A6 Techo, just the planner. Still debating on the A5 Cousin since I'm trying to figure out my planner budget. Weeks Mega could work but the layout is not working for me. We'll see.

I was sad that the Sky High cover has leather, like you I don't buy the stuff. But the print is so whimsical!

I wish they would make the cousin with the sneaker cover. I would like to occasionally have my cousin be 'naked' but I don't like the cream card stock.

Hello!!! I am thinking to get the blue sneaker weeks, but, it says that you cannot use a plastic cover beause it is a little smaller, what are your plans for this situation?

So... my list was the Alphabet cover and a Weeks Mega Sneakers in blue (my first Weeks ever) before the video and now I’m sure I have an exquisite taste 🤓
Edit: I’m thinking of getting one cork cover in Cadeneta For the Weeks or maybe one of her new washable paper covers
