I like the ending. She made sure to just get out of there and start a new life. Didn't risk going to her friend, the doctor or the authorities who could have already been doppelgangers. Bunch of loopholes in the movie but i am not going to write paragraphs detailing them.

I’ve seen a movie similar to this but the mother who was suspecting her son to be an impostor was actually the impostor herself after living a human life for so long she kinda forgot what she truly was and was fully convinced that she was human.

I read a book years ago about a doppelgänger. I can’t remember the name of it, but his mother (also a doppelgänger) abandons him after a certain age, which was normal. His true form was ugly. He ends up killing a super popular guy and stealing his girlfriend, lmao. But he tells her what he is and I think she accepts it. It was so long ago. I’d like to find that book now.
