Hi Yahoo, your people writing this little short. Do not fully understand measles and its severity. One of the highlights of measles is that if you do get infected it it damages your immune system which can completely reset it or just temporarily suppress it. Which opens you up to secondary infections. Which is one of the longer term dangers of measles. Which are completely disregarding. So make sure you do your research before you post things that are important.

I heard my grandma talking on the phone with someone about this and she said something about us (her grandkids) not being vaccinated, which is.. fun. I kinda already suspected that; my parents are openly anti vax, unfortunately

Tell the *whole* truth. The genotype of the particular measles virus responsible shows that it was imported. Patient 1 was "from abroad", not a Mennonite.. US endemic genotype virus was eradicated in 2000.
