BMW M3 Touring - First and Last (ENG) - Test Drive and Review

Показать описание
BMW M3 Touring is one of the last M cars that isn’t a plug-in hybrid and still has an internal combustion engine. There are rumors that the next M3 may be all-electric. In addition, the M3 Touring is the first and probably the last M3 estate. In M's history, a series production station wagon only appeared in the E34 and E61 M5s. In the E39, the estate never got beyond the prototype stage. On the one hand, this is no surprise, as we’re talking about niche body style of a niche model. Outside Europe, station wagons are at most a curiosity, while sedans, coupes and, of course, SUVs are the rainmakers. On the other hand, Audi's RS models are mainly estates, and Mercedes doesn't shy away from this body style in AMG models either.

If these were available in the US I would be at my local dealership waving my checkbook and yelling "TAKE MY MONEY PLEASE"!

A separate like for Tim)) 150, 000 Euros for a BMW ... in Bavaria, there must have been a good harvest of mushrooms ... Isn't it better for this price to see something from Aston Martin or Maserati, or even Ferrari ... it’s also not clear where such amounts come from, but at least you can explain to your neighbor why Aston and not BMW 😂
Great review! Thanks Marek! 🤝🤗

I've owned BMW tourings since 2007 and I've used the opening boot window all the time

The prettiest ladies are never late to the 🥳 bravo Marek! We will miss these power & pleasure machines when it will all whine... I have a 5 touring and find the tailglass opening very practical in various occasions.

I have a 330d G21 and I use the opening glass in the hatch regularly. Parking spaces here in the UK are pretty small so I regularly find it’s easier to just open the glass than hope there’s enough room to open the whole tailgate if I’ve reversed into a tight space.

Nice review Marek! To answer your question about its relevance, trust me I've already seen it on the roads few months ago. In my opinion, it's going to sell like hot cakes.

Hi Marek! I have a six year old F31 and (as others have said) use the open glass back a lot for dropping stuff in like shopping bags when it’s tightly parked. Alas mine is a humble 320d driven in Liverpool, England. Great vids. Thank you.

I would choose this over any of the countless number of super-powered SUVs, but I agree that the M340i is probably enough. The limits in the new M3s are simply too high to enjoy on a public road in my opinion. Imagine have less than 4 seconds to enjoy the (lack of) engine noise!

It’s an impressive vehicle, but as an ownership proposition I’d take the M340 version.

Every dad's dream car that doesn't come to North America because Americans hate wagons. At least I can watch Marek enjoy it even though he isn't a dad.... or at least he's not a dad of anybody he is aware of.. ;)

Yes! I _have_ used the boot-opening window to place items in my F31, it's just that sometimes u can forget to lower back down the load-cover which is annoying when u look in the rear-view mirror after setting-off 😅
Estates are awesome, I would've bought a G21 if i didn't find the sports seats painfully uncomfortable due to the stitching on the seat base. Audi & Merc don't do heated steering wheels. Maybe I should've looked at a Skoda...?
You make a fair point, Marek, it does feel like too late to the party, I have the impression that this was some kind of vanity project for the end of the pure combustion BMW M era.

Where oh where was this before i had kids and could justify dropping 150k on something that will only lead to speeding fines! Been waiting for this car for so long, but its now sadly irrelevant, pretty sure i wouldn't be able to drive this to my home due to a LEZ :(
Love the crossover from The Tim Traveller! :) Thanks for all your wonderful reviews Marek, always spot on and funny!

Hi Marek, great review. Do you happen to know/remember the exact color of this car as communicated by BMW ? Thanks!

You seemed underwhelmed with the car, Marek and it came across in the complete lack of enthusiasm in your voice.
I personally think the M340d makes a better station wagon and offers just as much everyday fun for, in this case, half the price. 😊

Nice video! Were you able to transfer to this car the configuration of the 340i or other BMWs you've tested? 😃

I assume that from the interior sound is coming from speakers no?

Hi Marek. Great review as always. For me this is the perfect car. However, these bmw 'after market' stuff look horrible. Especially the exhaust 🤦
