BMW has finally built an estate version of the M3 super saloon – the M3 Touring. After teasing us with an E46 many years ago that never made it into production, there is finally a version for the G81 3 Series.

With the same inline-six engine and power as the saloon, as well as its big body kit, this could be the best hot estate on the planet, and it will make its World debut at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard this weekend! Before its debut Becky Evans went to Germany to find out more.

Looks awesome...but no manual gearbox 😭. BMW have dropped a clanger with that decision, and have lost my order.

The chunkier rear end actually makes the big grilles look acceptable. Shame the recent M3s sound so bad.

YES YES YES! I've been jealous of people's garage-built "M3 Estates" for years. We probably won't ever see one here in the US, but still DD perfection. Then again, maybe they saw Americans act like fools over the RS6 Avant and decided to take advantage of that.

Will it be worth the overs vs the M340i? Unlikely but still looks great. That being said the plum colour is grim IMHO.

Technically and dynamically it’ll be brilliant. Shame about the awful buck-toothed front and prolapsed rear. For me, BMW have completely lost their design direction unfortunately

Idk what it is about these new m3's, I could tell an E46 m3 from a 330ci but these just all look the same to me
