This is the quick version of how to set a Tomcat mouse trap without the details of how it works and no animation. Requested by a young lady a work...Very easy to set this type of trap if you see it once...

Yeah no matter how hard I try it will not stay set. I've baited it with a thin layer of PB (so thin you can't see it in many spots) and I've placed the bar correctly yet it always just snaps shut

Completely ignores the sensitivity settings in the square hole (left vs right side), but I don’t know which is which.

I'm returning mine to Walmart for a refund.

The trigger hole is badly designed, not enough of a tiny shelf, hidden inside, to hold the rod when you let go of the U-shape.

When the trap can finally be set, after many attempts, IT NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO KILL AN AVERAGE SIZE MOUSE. They end up injured, suffering and flopping around for hours.

Tomcat traps like this should never have left the factory until the kinks were ironed out.

Victor mouse traps are strong enough to kill adult mice. Their trigger and rod arrangement is much easier to set.
