As a classical percussionist, I can definitely agree that the triangle is more difficult than people think. Many students in my discipline neglect the triangle in practise and end up sucking at it. It does require a fair bit of practise to get clean sounding, even strokes at any dynamic and some composers are annoying enough to write grace notes in their triangle parts. However it definitely takes less practise than almost any other instrument so I will say it is a medium difficult instrument.

Compared to the bass though… it’s very easy

My band teacher’s friend is the triangle player for the Boston symphony orchestra and he just gets to travel around the world because I guess he is just the best at playing the triangle.
