What is Broken Time Drumming? | Book Overview

In this video I talk about my book Broken Time Drumming; what it is, who it's for, and how it works. This book was inspired by my own studies into the jazz drumming, particularly the broken time playing of drummers like Jack DeJohnette, Marcus Gilmore, and Jon Christensen.

I was fortunate enough to consult with John Riley on the topic, who kindly provided very valuable feedback. The book contains hundreds of motifs, dedicated play-along tracks, etudes and transcriptions, and a comprehensive conceptual analysis to tie it altogether.
