Btw.. price gouging isn’t just at the grocery store. It’s the manufacturers themselves. Clorox, Nabisco, Proctor & Gamble etc.

Kroger CEO admitted inflation made raising prices easier and not getting blamed. He literally said it.

I hate the society we have created for ourselves. How can so many people care so little about their fellow humans?

The amount of greed and ruthlessness, taking advantage of people during difficult times, is stunning.

How many ppl had to chose between paying bills and buying food?! Sick. People should go to jail for this.

A manager at the Home Depot told me that they were raising prices of materials during Covid despite the fact that they were paying the same prices to buy those materials because the company told them to do it.

The grocery store I work at just lowered prices on select items . It's still not enough for customers. Plus the company is building stores and making record profits while the employees struggle.

Corporate greed has been going on for a long time. But, the levels that they took it to after everyone had no money, no jobs, no hope… simply disgusting! 🤢

This is GOP corporate greed at its finest. Disgusting. 💙

Every congressman who has complained about inflation and the price of goods should condemn these greedy corporations and hold them accountable, heavy fines at the least

Good to finally have it on the record, despite the fact that anyone paying attention knew this was going on.

Shawn Rhymes here. The government will need to make the fines stiff enough to discourage the price gouging. Thanks for the video. I worked for Kroger about 30 years ago in the electronics department at a Fred Meyers store in the state of Washington. Kroger owns a number of chains, but to the best of my knowledge Safeway bought Albertsons some time ago. Thanks for the video. And thank you for responding.

Four companies in the USA control 85% of beef processing, 80% of corn seed distribution, 77% of fertilizer production, and 69% of grocery sales. Minimal competition means/leads to maximal price gouging. Theodore Roosevelt oversaw the busting of monopolies, perhaps that is what’s in order. Idk tho. Food for thought.

Noticed this about two years ago at my local Kroger, and stooped shopping there. It began with eggs, and went into other items. Costco is bout half price of same exact items. Despicable Kroger, despicable.

Big food needs to be seriously investigated just like big tobacco and big pharma, only like 7 multinational corporations own basically everything on the shelves

Hooray !
You're finally saying it out loud !!
Earnings calls with CEOs bragging about not lowering prices purposely because "inflation" is good for their margins, their dividend.

Kroger, walmart, albersons, safeway, etc. - they ALL price gouge. Also known as corporate greed!

I have been talking about the issue of price gouging since Covid. Thanks for highlighting this important fact. I hope the mergers fails.

I'm sure Republicans will oppose any action to help

In the early 90s we had a horrible ice storm here in Mississippi. We had hotels and stores price gouging like you wouldn’t believe. There were a lot of court hearings after. A lot of places got hit with large fines. But people were literally selling batteries for 40$, 50$ . It was crazy. Some hotels were charging hundreds for a room. We got so lucky. We got a room for less than 50$ and we had 3 adults and 6 kids. They also loaned us a vcr player and movies.
