How is your brain like a battery? When our neurons aren’t firing, what do they do? Resting potential can be a very difficult concept to describe, but Alie Astrocyte breaks it down to the basics so that anyone can understand it! Join us as we start to learn how your neurons send signals.

Literally saved a psychology student trying to learn the biology part of the course. Thank you!

I am in a Cognitive Neuroscience course, studying for the first midterm. We covered Action Potential so many times and it confused me so much - we never mentioned Resting Potential. It makes SO MUCH SENSE to have this as background knowledge first! Thank you for these videos, they are continuing to help students years later!

at 2:25 isn't Cl- outside the cell rather than inside, and Anions which are macro proteins supposed to be trapped inside the cell ??

Hi, This my first time seeing this video. You are incredible. You can make thing easier than it is, such this video. I just saw half of it and have become your fan. I saw lot crapy videos, doesn’t make sense to me. Thank you.

Ok so you showed K+ leaving and re-entering the cell. How does this build a potential?
Isn't it the active ports which build potential by pumping ions against the gradient?

I know sometimes the terms anode/cathode can depend on context, but isn't the cathode supposed to be negative and the anode positive?
