I’m demonstrating four common ways to remove resin drips from the back of a wood item: Vaseline, Elmer’s glue, latex, and painter’s tape. Which one works the best (and which one doesn’t work at all)? Watch to find out!

I would of loved to of seen the final backs of the pieces to see what you needed to do to make it look sellable. Also what you needed to do to each as in how you got the vasoline off. They are beautiful.

That was a great experiment. I considered using latex on a recent project but, I didn’t know if it would harm the finish. We did the table tops of our nightstands. They turned out great but, we did 4 coats and the only way those drips were coming off was with the heavy duty cutting wheel on the Dremel.😆 They make a vinyl pin striping tape that might work well on MDF. Also, Tuck tape should work as well, it’s usually pretty expensive. It’s extremely sticky so it may take the finish off. It’s used in molds for river tables.. which are made out of the white MDF. I’ve never seen it damage those so, maybe it’d be alright? Anyway, a couple of suggestions that might work for you.😊Thanks for sharing your results!

I've never liked using glue for drips. The vaseline gave interesting results, wonder what it is like using it on resin - coasters/trays etc for topcoating. I love liquid latex on resin and use a thin line of it around tape for wood pieces to help seal against seepage. Thanks for sharing!!

Maybe Dawn detergent on a rag will dissolve the Vaseline mess.
Try white vinegar on the Elmer glue.

Elmers glue is the easiest to use, on resin coasters or the back of anyting resin. You just need to let it dry till clear, then do your top coat. Once dry take a sharp object and get uder glue in one spot and it comes off super easy. I use alot of glue, not just a thin layer. Glue is also cheap. I just put a thin coat of resin on the back of my wood. In the end it just saves times and headache :)

This is actually the hardest part for me to get the drips off the back of an epoxy project. I am so bad at it, that I have to topcoat each side and pray for a Hail Mary that it works out
