This week, I combined my two kitbashed podracers and a model kit of Anakin’s podracer to build one large Pod Race diorama.

I think something that would help with the feeling of speed is dust clouds being kicked up by the engines and maybe some "speed lines" coming off the pod racers themselves.

In an absolute sense, fins open right would make a right bank. However, the pods are moving relative to each other. The Anakin pod is doing what we see in the movie a couple times - hard jank followed by a slam forward to get around the pod in front of him.
