'UP TO PUTIN': World awaits Russia response after Ukraine agrees to ceasefire

Ceasefire is either asked by the losing party, or when there is a stale mate. Ukraine is clearly the losing party. The Russian is still hammering Ukraine, they don’t see a stale mate.

I think realistically what's going to happen on Friday is that Russia will put forward a counter proposal instead of rejecting the idea of ceasefire outright. The counterproposal would entail conditions that not only the West would be unwilling to do but which would also expose their bluff. And the SMO will continue its natural course regardless of diplomats haggling over details of any potential ceasefire

One of two things will happen. Russia will either reject the proposal in whole or part, or they'll sign the agreement and break it anyway.

I don't think Russia would agree to a ceasefire unless Ukraine vacates the entirety of the 4 oblasts. They already retook Sudzha by force, so that can be left out.
