Talent is a natural aesthetic ability which is gifted by nature just like Lionel Messi he is an aesthetic talented player...Ronaldo is more of a hardworking player he doesn't have special ability like Messi he had to hard work for it...that's the difference...

Talent people have Inborn Foundation for specific discipline for eg if one have talent in singing means they have  Foundation For Good vocal control so for talented people already have good Foundation because of that whatever built upon that is good. 

Hard work is another Thing because they  lack foundation because of that if they start a Discipline there is a Very High chance  To build wrong foundation guess what happens whatever built in that Foundation is waste of time ' because of lack of knowledge they don't notice until it's too late Or Never .  That's why talented people said to be gifted They progress quicker And They have lot of Time To improve so they Basically have More potential 

 For Talented person recognise pattern is Natural Born ' use it and master it ' That's it

But coming to hardworker recognise pattern is  very hard because it's is unknown(unconscious incompetence)

That's why most Not talented People Not Successful.
