Welder 220V Extension Cord DIY

Needed an extension cable for the hilariously short power cable on the Cut-Shifty... plus something so I can use it and the welder more than a couple feet away from the 220V outlet in the garage.

25 feet of extension cord should fit the bill. Let's make one.

First thing I made for my everlast welder was an extension cord so that I could use it 50ft away from the outlet. Good video my friend.

Spit coffee through my nose during the intro to your video ... thanks for the laugh and the video. Very helpful. The out takes cracked me up, too. Maybe you're in the wrong profession? 😀 Thanks, man.

Hey Nate....make some new videos! I was really starting to dig your channel and your great explanations of how to do things....your humor was great too!

The Mr. mom clip was perfectly placed! I made one of these extensions for my Cut shifty back in summer. It’s handy to be able to move the machine around and not stay tied to the wall. I made the ground clamp setup you featured in your other video and it’s working great! Glad to see a new video from you!

What about 12/3 for "15.0 amp" 5hp Campbell hausfeld aircompressor for tire air? The tank holds 100 psi forever so no long run times. No air tools. 25 feet?

I myself am a novice, nevertheless, I learned what I needed to know.
Thank you sir, and I've subscribed, as I liked your attitude and commentary throughout.

"IN THE BEGINNING" - it's sounds like a struggling, heavily constipated dude...

Enjoyed the vid, so I liked and subbed.

Nate. I'm amazed that you did an electrical video and had so few comments. Awesome! Three things, the #8 conductor is rated(in your configuration) 40 amperes, and a #6 is 55 amperes. So the conductor size is correct. The metal box that you used should be connected to ground. I do not believe you did. I do not understand why you used the metal box instead of the surface mounted receptacle. If you ha, no need for the second point. If someone tries to preach NEC they are incorrect. Cords with plug and receptacle are not premise wiring as the NEC is written for and stated in article 90. I'm sure the cord works very well! Enjoy life!

Can I put 2 cords together to get where I need to

I would use red and black as hot. White and green wire ties together for better ground

A little confused... you say "white on narrow blade ". a minute later you put black wire on narrow blade..

Could you wire the extension directly into the breaker panel?

you are a funny guy, nice video, also at the end of the video I realize that the extension cable is way thicker than the welder cable.
