My favorite Breeders song and one of the best songs from the early 90's. 1992 was an amazing year.

He didn't cry on a safari
In over his knees
He couldn't leave a finer life
Always hugging the ground
And crying out for me
He didn't cry on a safari
In over his knees
He couldn't leave the flock, he couldn't leave
Always hugging the man
And crying out for me

Fuck I miss this era. The 90s had many killer bands. The full female punk/ alt scene was still strong from the late 80s, I was a young skater youth/teen with an unbeatable decade of a soundtrack. Fantastic times. Wouldn’t trade it for any other.

Tanya certainly put all her passion of playing the guitar to this session. She obviously knew she needed to manage the band and couldn’t play as much guitar with Belly. Safari’s outro riff sounds like the birthday party’s the hair shirt.

If a child ever comes and asks you "what is cool?"
This is.

Tip of the hat to John Mattock for the drumming.

For my money, No band has the capability to set a mood like "The Breeders"
