It should go faster if you open the oil cap

There’s a recall on this product, I’d double check to see if yours is defective . I’ve had the same one for almost 2 years now and works 10x better than that. I use it for 2014 328d and it sucks up 6qts of oil in a matter of minutes. Definitely seems like yours might be defective

Hey man, the soft hose is for bleeding breaks. I have a pump just like that and like it. I agree with the warming the oil a little. Thanks for the video

I've found that those things work infinitely better if you get the oil pretty warm first so it thins out.

Go pneumatic oil extractor, yes you need an air compressor but worth it
You'll be able to sit back make yourself a delicious chilled beverage and ponder the mysteries of the multiverse while the machine does all the work for you 👍😎

You bought the wrong one. I bought mine off Amazon that looks the same as yours for $84 dollars. To remove 5 quarts I’ll pump mine 10 times that’s it. In around 4 minutes it removes the 5 quarts. Mine has a reverse so it then pumps it out into the 5 quart empty oil jug. So clean and easy to use.

Did he run the car for a couple minutes to let the oil run more freely, it'll flow quicker.

I have been using one of these for years now, used it on my E46 330i, my 2017 E-Klass, my 2014 Volvo S60 T5, my Nissan pickup, I will not put a car on jacks to change the oil again.

To make this job easier run the car for a few mins the let it sit for about 5 mins so the oil can drain back down. Always remove the oil filter and take off engine oil cap off it helps the oil flow out faster

I think the couplers are contributing to the pressure leakage. Might get new longer tubing and try again.

Have the same one from Harbor Freight. I used it for an oil change on my wifes MK6 GTI, drained very little. I kept pumping and pumping and saw no new oil moving through the lines. Removed the oil pan plug and a steady flow of oil flowed from the oil pan, approx. 2 quarts.

Was that 6L before you ran the engine and filled the filter housing? That might pull half a liter by itself.

I use a similar extractor like this but there’s a tight fit on the oil stick opening which causes continuous pressure into the tank. You may have missed something in the instructions. Also warm up the car for 5 minutes.

Thanks for the video. Do you think or know if the tube is long enough to reach the bottom of an oil pan on a pickup truck? Thanks

hey, was the engine warm? i'm trying to get a gauge on if it'll work faster or not. i have a topsider, it's also kinda slow, i got new seals for it so it might be a lil faster now, but i'm not sure, i was hoping one of these holt ones would be faster since it has a longer pump than the topsider

I bought one of these for my MK7 GTI and I sucked 5.75 ish quarts out of 6 quarts after 5, 000 miles. There was still fluid in half the hose at the end so I know it didn't get it all. When I put the new oil back in it took a full 6 and wasn't over full so I think I got majority of it. The only down side of the extractor is the oil left in the lines after pumping. Had to be careful not to set them down anywhere important

Anyone try this with hydraulic fluid? The drain hole for my plow is rusted and worried about stripping it.

Did you heat up the oil before you started because that’s the only way it’s going to drain fast.

I bought and used one just like this for transmission fluid. Worked great. Anyone know how to use it for another job without cross-contaminating with tranny residue?
