Anger can be highly destructive or be used in a positive way with God’s help to create goodwill and peace. In this Beyond Today program, host Gary Petty explores the complexities of anger, delineating its various forms and sources, and offering insights on how to manage it. He emphasizes the destructive potential of unchecked anger and advocates for harnessing it positively, drawing parallels with biblical teachings, particularly the example set by Jesus. Gary Petty identifies unhealthy expressions of anger such as uncontrolled venting, repression, and denial, while urging for reasoned responses and forgiveness. Spiritual dimensions of anger are also examined, highlighting its role in Christian spiritual warfare and the need for aligning emotions with biblical principles. Gary encourages viewers to seek cultivating traits like patience, self-control, and love to overcome destructive anger.

Bitterness is like taking a poison pill but waiting for the other person to
Having said that do you know why we count to 10 after we step back when we want to work on our the reason is actually really cool in our brain when something happens that traumatizes us to a degree large or small but it does bring us to a state of anger we go immediately to our fight or flight center of the brain and that's just where we will react from if we stay there but if we take a step back and count to 8 or 10 the reason it helps is because it takes about 8 seconds if you don't react to something for your brain to actually go into what is called the retrieval portion of the brain that retrieves past experiences that you've learned from that relate to this one and it helps you cope but it takes roughly about 8 seconds to get there.... so if you make yourself step back and count to eight or 10 you can literally train yourself to start automatically going into that retrieval portion of your brain but it takes some time of training
