Recognizing your weak spot and working around it is the true sign of maturity. Kudos to both of you for being a great example.

Yesterday I watched a YouTube video about a young women who was a single mom at 18. Complaining about living on minimum wage. Years later she is still working at McDonald's, on food stamps, and other benefits. Always blaming everyone else! You did great taking responsibility for your own mistakes and circumstances. Thanks for sharing your story.

Oh and this is my second comment....forgot to mention it in my intial comment....Twara thanks for letting Mike tell as much of this story as possible. We know your personality (not trying to be mean here) and i just love when you smile and just let Mike talk. I feel as a guy/husband he has a powerful message that needs to be heard! Hope I said that you both!

You know, people say " oh that was 25 yrs ago". Well, that was 1996 not 1950. I remember what it cost to feed a family of 6 and now it cost more... 25 dollars a week in 1996 for groceries was not much. Congratulations to you for being able to do it.

I've lived my whole adult life making wrong financial choices. I too thought I was being responsible so many times, when in fact, I was not.I finally have a plan and I'm in month 2 of sticking to the payoff plan. Can't wait for the series. Thank you

I must say, your home looks so warm and cozy with the tree in the background and that "fireplace". You all are a comfort to me. God is so good to us, yes?

That's the thing.. I always paid everything even if I had no money left to eat, and it was not until my 46 life year that I learnt that you can agree on monthly payments with most companies if you do not have the money. I also did not know that before.

My husband and I were homeless before as well. Before we got married.

I am so excited for this series! We are debt free except the house. We are excited to work hard to pay the house off but it can feel overwhelming since we owe $230, 000 on our house in California, which is an inexpensive house in our area so we are grateful for that.

My husband and I do 50 dollars a week, that is including extra food for stock, I make basically everything from scratch. people waste alot of money on precooked frozen foods. Most of the fruit and veggies I do not get or less they are on sale and If I have extra room in my budget that week, And you know I can still make really good healthy meals, people are just sloppy with there money and eat their retirement.

My mama taught me to keep a “pad” in the bank account which seems to be similar to your $1, 000 = 0 idea. I’ve always done that and sometimes more to avoid fees and the like from the bank. I also always have a bit of cash on my person as well as identification - not in my purse - on me.

I have been very lucky in my life that I have been comfortable and for the last 10 years or so been debt free. I love watching your videos. You can always learn a new tip. But the most wonderful thing is that it is so inspiring. Don't you love to walk out of a movie and be so inspired to take on the world? Your videos do that for me.

I took over the accounting part of the household, and that is a great tip...count the balance as zero when there is still money in it! Really hard to do when paying off debt, but once you are close to paying it off, keep over a thousand as cushion..NO CREDIT CARDS as cushion!!!😊
