I live in Massachusetts and there was a landlord doing this to prospect tenants looking at apartments he owned. A few white prospect tenants showed up to the viewing and he accomidated them and showed them around, however when a family of color came to view the apartment he told them that viewing hours were done for the day, not true. The white couple came back to the kitchen island to discuss first, last, security deposits and rent, what the landlord didn't know was he was under investigation by the housing authority and police for discrimination. Then like a dummy he told the couple he doesn't rent to N words or gays. That's all that needed to be said, he was placed under arrest and charged with violating the housing act of 1997 and the civil rights act of 1964. He was placed on the landlords blacklist ( yes it exists in my state), he was also written up by the better business bureau, and he had pay restitution to the prospect tenants. His son took over his father's properties and the tenants consider the son and his wife sweethearts and the landlords wife divorced him and sold the home she shared with her hate filled husband and moved into one of the apartments.
