As soon as he stated he was a guest, and his guest status was verified, the police should have walked away

Diversity and inclusion training? Do people really need to be trained on how to treat people? That is a joke

"because they felt uncomfortable" GOOD, I hope they spend the rest of their lives in a state of perpetual discomfort.

I worked at a hotel in Missouri as an overnight staff worker. One of my jobs was to ensure that anyone using our facilities is a guest. One night in particular I caught a group of teenagers jumping our back fence to get into the hot tub. I approached the group of about 10 teens of mixed races and asked if they were all guest. They were very polite to my question saying yes. And when I asked if they could show me their room keys everyone of them had a key card. After I had confirmed that the keys were active and that they were theirs as per policy I informed them for their safety and well being that they cannot jump the back fence and they Apologized and we went about our evenings peacefully.
It's not hard to asked a question if it's policy, and especially if a guest shows proof they are a guest. As a former Hotel worker I am disgusted by these staff members

Police: 'What's your emergency?'
Hotel employees 'There's a black man on the premises trying to exist.'

Sue the hotel, and sue all individuals involved including the manager

about 2 years ago, I had police called on me for loitering. They showed up and the story unfolded. A dental office gave me a date and time to collect a copy of my records. The company was going to lose me as a customer so they tried to embarrass me. It didn't work. I showed the cops the email printout with the appointment. They tried to claim other things until their own video showed I was cooperative. It went to court and they LOST $. The black man had every right to be there as a guest.

Love how the guy was like "you're loitering, " despite there literally being chairs set up. Then went to trespassing, despite the man being a guest, with a key, in a public part of the hotel. So then he just defaulted to "security risk."

“911 what’s your emergency?”
“Um yes, there is a black person breathing oxygen out here”

The hotel should face a lawsuit, and in doing so businesses will train their employees to keep their hate at home if they expect to earn a paycheck.

A few years ago a friend and I (both white)were staying at a hotel in NYC. My friend left her cell phone in our Uber so I called from mine to see if the driver could bring it back. We ended up waiting in the hotel lobby for close to 2 hours for him. No one said a word to us about loitering. This gentleman was racially profiled, pure and simple.

Omg. He says “how am I loitering in a place that’s public?” and the employee says, “you’re sitting here” wow haha this is nuts. I hope he really did get fired.

Cops should be sued too because they knew he was a guest but went along with management anyway just goes to prove white people comfort is more important than a black life

“Alleged” racial profiling. I don’t see what else it could be. It IS racial profiling…

You know already there’s something wrong when you have to teach your employees to treat everyone the same no matter what their race is.

When I was in Taiwan I went for an early jog and came back to the hotel I was staying in and sat in the smoking area. One of the staff approached and asked if I stayed at that hotel. I said "yes", and he said "ok thank you" and THAT WAS THAT.

What in God's name is going through someone's mind when the man shows them his room key and they still kick him out?

Cops:"911 what's your emergency?"

Me:"there is a Karen on the horizon, and I'm feeling uncomfortable"
