Thank you, thank you, thank you! Your video was so incredibly helpful. I went with the 5 minute hot mud because it was the only one I could find in a smaller quantity (3 lb bag). I had no problems with it setting too quickly. I let it cure for a couple days just to be safe. I sanded it, primed it and painted it. I was able to replace the towel bar mount in the same location, drilling a couple of holes in it for drywall anchors, and it's so secure and holding. Other than having to replace the torqued towel bar with a new one that's a little shinier than the mounts, you can't tell anything happened. Thank

That helped a lot. I take it you can reuse that spot . Meaning you can put another type of bolt or anchor in there to hang towel bar in same location

Most of these towel bars failing off are not from children using it as a grab bar it's from children pulling the towels off to the side when drying their hands and the anchors are not sufficient enough to be used in most drywall mediums toilet paper holders are doing the samething. Drywall isn't a strong medium for use with everyday use with shotty anchors, most of these homes are builders track homes that use crappy components to anchor towel bars to drywall, I started working on builders track homes in 1981 and have seen it all when it comes to anchoring systems, if you have small children it's best to use a towel bar that's mounted on a wood base plate that in turn is screwed to the wood studs every 16 inches instead. Of the drywall. As kids are hard on on these items! Kids are kids !
