Mine has an assembly every week but we DO pay attention because if you do something nice a teacher gives you a little blue token.
We were split into four teams and the one with the most little tokens per 3 weeks (term) gets to leave school for sports. So we pay attention to count the score per week.

My school has assemblies every Thursday, and the last one they made a "no backpacks on the floor" rule. Nobody's tripping on backpacks in the halls, and you have to lift up and back down again and again from the top of the lockers. Extremely inconvenient for everybody, especially for kids with those roller backpacks. Plus stupid too because they *CONFISCATE YOUR BACKPACK AND WILL GIVE YOU A SLIP WHEN YOU COME TO COLLECT IT.* And they say it's "to improve your prudence 😇 🙏".
Catholics go to the farthest extents to punish kids for no reason.
