I think the reason there's so much emptiness in the Maw is because it's a place in deep decline. There used to be more people working there, both adults and gnomes, but for one reason or another the crew just thinned out until what's left are the bare minimum needed to keep things running. Roger handles just about everything as opposed to a larger staff, hence why he handles the kids, moving cargo, and so on. The chefs prepare the food because going through the cycle of getting guests and chopping them up is the only real purpose the place has anymore. The gnomes keep the furnaces running.

The library isn't usable by Roger but maybe it was something other staff members who could see used. The filing area is abandoned because keeping track of things is no longer important but maybe at some point knowing who's who and what's where was essential to keeping business running.

But all of that is gone. What's left is a husk of what the Maw used to be.

i think the reason structures in the spiral like the maw have these passage ways made for smaller beings like the children is because it literally was built by the children trapped there. not physically, but the whole of the spiral is this nightmare realm, its a physical land of manifestations of childrens real fear. i like to think that it was created by these childrens fears and everything in it is made by the consciousness of the children trapped there. thats why structures have these passage ways because subconsciously they have created these passage ways first themselves.

The maw isn't a built thing like real ships; it's a part of the nowhere- it's constructed by it. The whole thing is it feeds off of the fears of children stuck there so many places in it, like the library, don't really make sense but when you realize it's just a warped copy of reality it makes more sense. The nowhere doesn't care a library doesn't belong on a ship- it still generates food (fear) for itself.

The nowhere is very much like it from "it" in that aspect

20:58 there was an unused character called the wax face or bellman, it was a tall person wearing a red jacket like those guys who push the button for you in an elevator at fancy hotels. There was a little nightmares debut con where you could see that character behind a mirror or a see through glass

I think Rogers Bed only has the straps to keep the bedding in place when he puts it back in the cupboard in the morning 😅 he probably has them open when he is actually sleeping in it

I think the lashes on Roger's bed are there because as the Maw is a sea vessel, in bad wheater the ocean can grow very violent, even underwater. You certainly would not want to be flinged off of your bed while you sleept

the maw looks like the bathhouse from spritied away.. and the nomes also remind me of the spiders because they both do labor to power the engine

BTW i like the idea that when we enter the lady’s quarters it feels as if we are teleported to a colder place in this world, as we can see 6’s breath

The Maw is by far my favorite place in Little Nightmares. It was such a cool and unique concept that nobody had done before. Sure, the Pale City, the Wilderness, the Necropolis, and rest of the Nowhere is creative, but nothing really beats the sheer amount of opportunity that the Maw had and still does have, along with the Nest as well. People are forgetting the Maw, and I'm glad this video was put out there.

You know, considering the entire game is about Six climbing up and out of the Maw, it's kind of odd: How did she even get down into its deepest depths, before the game starts? It's not like there's a way to get in down there, so she must've started where the game ends.

The janitor: "Why did you guys put fish back up on the rafters after i got them down the first time!? Im busy doing other stuff. "

Chef 1: "rodger, who else am i supposed to call? You're literally the only other staff in the Maw other than us"

The janitor: "i dont know, man, stack up on your brothers shoulders and get it"

Chef 1: "I dunno man...That sounds like alot of wor-"

The janitor : * hangs up *

Chef 2 : " is he not coming to play uno with us?"

Chef 1: "no brother... no he is not"

Did you notice the eyes in the signal tower is the faces of the people that got their eyes and faces taken away while watching tv probably

The straps on rogers bed is to keep the pillows and cover in plase when the bed is folded into the closet
