If you use liquid nitrogen is good idea to use thermo cam to see how temperature rising.

Thank you for sharing. I wish I had a good 500 ton press around too. You are a good presenter of what 500 tons can do.

Let me warn you again "Do not repeat the same thing at home" just wanna ensure everyone reads and understood it. No need for thanks guys!

Which material is the press made of? I mean it's obviously steel but what kind of hardened steel?

It is quite well known that heat makes steel malleable, while cold makes it brittle.

The rail shatters like a glass. That's the power of freeze.

And hydraulic press.

That may be. Under severe deformation, heat generated inside, so soon temperature rise to common temperature.

"Dont make at home"

Me: bro i dont have a 500 ton press at home

I guess if you want to see diffrence it should be with high speed object hitting the thing because with pressing it's just heating up again

Reminds me back in college graduate engineering class right here

Why hasn't anyone mentioned that at 3:03 he picks up the iron block that can instantly freezes his hand?

Would like to have seen a Rockwell hardness on each afterwards.

Do not repeat at home.
Yeah, like we have Steel to do.

Wait! One block was 49mm and the other was 50mm. Not a fair test!

I guess this means we must engineer everyrhing out of mild steel cubes...🙃🙃🙃

Надо изменение температуры замерять при сдавливание
